So Very Tired

This week Henry has shown that he is able to:

1) Climb out of his playpen
2) Open the bathroom door
3) Open the baby gate at the top of the stairs
4) Fall down the stairs

Oh, dear. And the cruelest part is that you would think after all that, he'd be tired too. But I bet he isn't!

Oh no! Is he okay???

Each new stage of mobility is sort of horrifying, no? There are always those transition times where I find myself frantically thinking up new forms of containment, preferably ones that don't induce prolonged bouts of screaming!

Who would have thought you'd have to baby proof the baby gate?

Oh, no!!!!!!!! He's OK, though, right???? Did he maybe learn something, at least?! Well, there's a few of your hairs that'll never have color again, that's for sure. Good grief.

My verify is 'somber'. Sheesh.

And what I wouldn't give to have a fraction of that energy and enthusisasm right about now.

Oh my. I read about the playpen on Twitter but had no idea he fell down the stairs. Poor muffin (er, FLUFFIN!).

Good luck to you.

Hope he's okay! It sure cuts into one's blogging time, huh? Having a fully mobile toddler!

He's totally fine. He rolled down gently, like a chunky tumbleweed. He only cried for a minute, because he wanted to get right back to his plan of Snooping Downstairs.

Duuuuude. I am so glad that I don't have stairs. Good luck!

Oh, THAT'S funny.

The thing about opening the doors and all that? That is headed our way aaaaany minute now and it makes me want to WEEP.

WEEP, I say.

Why do these babies INSIST on progressing physically before they can REASON?

My girl is almost 17 months and she has fallen down the stairs several times. Ugh. I know that makes me sound like Her Bad Mother but honestly, it's like she is DETERMINED to do it! My four year old has taken to getting through the upstairs gate without opening it. We think he is just squooshing his body down, like a mouse or a rat. Sheesh. I'm glad Henry's okay!

Oh, I'm so glad he's okay! My two year old has figured out how to open the back door. Y'know, the one leading to OUTSIDE?! Yeah, good times.

YIKES. I am not looking forward to that stage.

Um, Swistle? If you read the post in sequence it seems like Henry's playpen is kept in the bathroom. hahahahaha!!!

He's a man with a plan....poor you for the next three years until school. I recommend chocolate.
