Living Doll

So, doll collecting: more controversial than potty training. Good to know!

I am reading American Psycho, so I'm having trouble doing anything else. I get so grossed out I have to put it down, but then I'm so mesmerized I have to go back to it.

I had a happy Postcrossing thing happen: at the airport I bought a postcard OF the airport---and then today I drew the name of someone who collects airport postcards. I've never seen someone request one before, so it was pretty exciting.

I'm still settling in from my trip. I haven't gotten through my email yet, or through the posts in my Google reader, but I'm getting there. And then I need to go through five kersnillion photos of THIS:

Aww look at the little smile!

The quickest way to fill up storage space is to a visit a baby. I have hundreds of pics of my God-daughter.

Look at that smile!!! Adorable. You must've had such a good time on your visit. My boyfriend's sister-in-law just had a baby, too, and I cannot WAIT to get my hands on him!

OMG! Is Niestle related to...HENRY?!?

Oh, well, yes. I suppose she is.

That DNA sure is cute.

HAHAHA! American Psycho. I love(?) that book. Same disgust/fascination problem. I've never seen the movie because I'm not sure I want to SEE all that.

And wow, she is a totally cutie. And yes, she looks a lot like Henry.

Shit. That should be "total cutie" not "totally cutie".

Oh my gosh, I clicked over from Google reader to read the doll comments since you said they were controversial - that was hilarious! Who knew so many people think dolls are creepy. I hope you didn't take any of the more mean-spirited ones personally, what a silly thing to get all name-cally about.

I am a total packrat (and a frequent mover, what a bad combination), so I feel your "to keep or not to keep" pain. Let us know what you decide, and good luck!

Niestle is the cutest, love the smile!

Oh dear, how can she be smiling so fabulously already?! She's precious and I want that sweater.

You're going to get stuck in the My Picutres folder and never come out!

Love love LOVE the smile.

And about the dolls: we love you for all your eccentricities. I collect vintage salt-and-pepper shakers and my husband reminds me on a regular basis that it is "weird" and "very old lady-ish" and also possibly "off-putting". At least we're a bunch of on-line crackpots that are saying things about your collection. In my case, it's someone I LOVE that's telling me I'm crazy.

Dont worry, we all collect stuff. I collect butt photos. I'd like to clarify that this is non-sexual, it started off as a joke when a family I know posed for a group 'bum photo' and sent it to me for Christmas. Friends and family thought it was a good joke so they did it too and before I knew it I had a collection of all my friends bent over lol.

After your last postcrossing entry, I joined up and am totally loving it! I've sent 10 cards and received six (half of those from Italy oddly enough) and it got me thinking...with how long you've been doing it, how many cards can you send out at a time?

Swistle said...

I'm up to 12 cards at a time now!

I'm pretty impressed that you're reading American Psycho. I'm not sure I could!

Don't know when you snapped that photo, but NICE WORK. We would like a copy of that one!

OMG. that face and that smile should be on a postcard or a poster with an inspirational message for the workplace or something!! that is the cutest stinkin' thing I've ever seen!!!!

She is so stinking cute. I'm surprised you didn't pack her in your carry on.

That is one adorable baby - holy cow! How did you refrain from bringing her home with you?

I'd really be interested in hearing what you thought about American Psycho after you're done. I have this thing with all of Bret Easton Ellis' books where I'm totally obsessed with it, then I usually end up throwing it across the room when I finsih the last page. And I normally don't condone book abuse in any form.
