Mr. Pickles Goes Back to Target

Well, when Mr. Pickles (or possibly Mr. Pickles's brother Mr. Pickles) wants to go back to Target, I'd like to see YOU try to say no to that fluffy little face.

Mr. Pickles tries to get a pickup game going. He's been trying to kick that ball for, like, ten minutes now.

Mr. Pickles is looking out the window because he doesn't seem to have a functional side-view mirror. Or a windshield.

Mr. Pickles tries on shoes: "How do I look?"

Mr. Pickles inspects the North Pole. "Still at the top," he reports.

Mr. Pickles spots a deal. "OMG!" he says, "Only $1.74! And aren't these the spaghetti-stain-colored towels you were hoping to find more of??"

Mr. Pickles is confused. Is this a 4-seater chicken toilet? Or what?

Mr. Pickles tries to blend in when a Target employee comes by. We're not sure we're allowed to be taking photos in here.

Mr. Pickles considers pen options in the dollar section. He likes the whale ones, especially because he thinks those are the ones Black Sheeped has, but eventually he selects the butterfly/grass combo.

Dr. Maureen has set up a group on Flickr for The Chicken Game photos: The Flickr Chicken Game Group. Anyone is welcome to join.

I can tell you that I may have to stop reading your blog, because everytime I do, I DESIRE Target. In a no-so-healthy way. ;) Also, I am trying to NOT be a consumer, and yet, you are so persuasive.

Example? I bought cloth napkins yesterday. And the more I read about Mr. Pickles, the more I get greenish and WANT ONE.

Hope you have a great hot-water-filled weekend!

So, I have decided that your Target is much cooler than our Target. That or I am not looking very well because even though our Target has cute things, nothing like what you seem to be finding. I think I need to go look again...gee darn! :)

I gave in. Today I went to spotlight to buy wool and there were little yellow chickens at the checkout. As I was about to pay I said to my husband, 'could you please grab me a box of those little yellow chickens?'.

I don't know why I find this so amusing, but I do. Thanks for the bright spot in my day!

I just love this! Target and chickens and the name Mr. Pickles... love! I predict some kind of fame and/or fortune for you and Dr. Maureen (and the fabulous Mr. Pickles!) will come from this.

"4-seater chicken toilet" BWAA!

I found our Mr. Pickles yesterday while shopping for gift bags at the dollar store. The dollar store!!! We pondered over his name for an hour or so and finally agreed on Tyson (Tyson Chicken? Believe me it was better than my husband's choice). I'm worried that if it took us that long to name a little chicken, how long will we argue over baby names?

Wow. I'd better start thinking of good Mr. Pickles placements NOW.

As if my trips to Target didn't last long enough. Now if I'm going to be taking my Mr. Pickles with me, it's going to be a half-day event. Are your kids with you when you're doing this? Does anyone look at you weird? I bet you are your Target's very favorite shopper! I bet the guys who scan the security cam images see you coming and settle in b/c they know fun is about to happen!

I think my sister, who's in marketing, has mentioned being asked not to take pictures in Target before.

Probably if she brought along a Mr. Pickles, they'd let her go chicken-crazy.

My favorite is the 4-seater chicken toilet.

I had to go to Books A Million today and I saw THE cutest little chicken magnets. They looked exactly like Mr Pickles except not furry. You (and everyone else who loves Mr Pickles) should totally check that out.

HEEE!

Also, Marie Green, email me! I will mail you a Mr. Pickles! (Once I get time to stock up on them. Snow is predicted for the next 150 years - or possibly two days - so my restocking trip is likely postponed.)

I had the worst day and this totally perked me up. Mr. Pickles totally cuted me out (a family saying wherein a party provides so much cuteness that its overwhelming and renders the other party nearly speechless, or with the hiccups)!!
SO cute.
and 4 seater chicken toilet is like my favorite thing that happened today. I'm taking that visual to bed with me to make me smile.
thanks!!

I'm just glad Mr. Pickles didn't fall into the four-seat chicken toilet. That might have had to involve an extraction team, complete with media attention and then you would be all, "Yep, I was just taking my little chicken, his name is Mr. Pickles, by the way, to Target, and then DISASTER struck."

Seriously. Be careful, Mr. Pickles.

holy freakin' funnies! the photos- mildly entertaining. the photos WITH the captions-- holy freakin' funny!

I missed how Mr Pickles got his name, though. Care to enlighten? Maybe interview him on your way to the next Targeh trip?

Son and I laughed out loud at all these pictures. Especially, says Son, the chickie toilet.

You had me at chicken toilet.

I cannot find any little chickens around here - tragic. I'm going to try again this weekend. I made the unfortunate mistake of telling Harper about the game before securing any chickens - bad move.
